Confirmed: Fawad Khan to star in Salman Khan’s production venture

There have been reports of Fawad Khan starring in Salman Khan’s production venture ‘Jugalbandi’ doing rounds for quite some time. However, the ‘Kapoor & Sons’ actor has been roped in for Salman’s other production venture instead, which will be directed by Nitin Kakkar.

Nitin confirmed the news and said, “We go on floors with Fawad sometime next year. He is locked in. We are currently in the process of getting an actress on board.”

The director’s last movie ‘Filmistaan’ had a strong message, and was a sleeper hit at the box office. This one, on the other hand, is touted to be a love story. He said, “This is an urbane love story. But more than that, it’s an interesting take on relationships between a boy and a girl.”

Fawad was earlier going to star in ‘Jugalbandi’, but opted for Nitin’s film. A source said, “Amar Butala, who’s heading SKF, has been in constant touch with Fawad and it’s true that the two have finally decided to work together. But it’s not for ‘Jugalbandi’. Fawad has greenlit ‘Filmistaan’ director Nitin Kakkar’s next film instead.”

Salman, who is currently busy with ‘Tubelight’, will decide which film will start rolling first – ‘Jugalbandi’ or Nitin’s film.
