This veteran actress recommended Aditi Rao Hydari’s for ‘Padmavati’

There have been reports that Aditi Rao Hydari has been roped in to play Sultan Alauddin Khilji’s (Ranveer Singh) wife in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’. And now, it is said that it was a veteran actress who recommended Aditi’s name for the film.

Well, the veteran actress is none other than, Jaya Bachchan.

A source said, “For a long time, Jayaji felt that Aditi has huge potential. ‘Her eyes are very deep, sad and expressive. Uske chehre pe ek noor hai (there’s a sparkle in her face),’ she told a friend. She then went further and recommended her to Sanjay Bhansali for ‘Padmavati’.”

Sanjay, who has huge respect for Jaya Bachchan, agreed to the veteran actress’ opinion and roped in Aditi for the film.

Well, for the uninitiated, Aditi had made her Bollywood debut with ‘Delhi 6’ which starred Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role.
