Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s Padmavati to release on 17 November 2017

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone reunite once again with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for Padmavati. And this time, they will be joined by Shahid Kapoor. After many speculations that whether any of the aforementioned cast members will be there in the film or not. There were rumours that Ranveer Singh was not too happy about Shahid Kapoor being in the film, while Shahid was also said to be annoyed with the indifference meted out to him by Ranveer. Whether these rumours were true or not, we don;t know but it seems that all is fine and if there have been any problems before the stars have sorted it out and have given their final nod to the film. The film is all set to go on floors this month and the movie will be releasing next year in 2017.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the news with fans. “Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali finalize release date of #Padmavati: 17 Nov 2017… Stars Ranveer, Deepika and Shahid.,” he tweeted. So we have to wait for a little more than a year to watch this epic period drama roll on screen.

Padmavati is based on the story of Queen Padmavati, also known as Rani Padmini of Chittor, whose fames beauty was the talk of the whole country. Alas! This beauty also proved to be a curse in her life as the Delhi emperor Alauddin Khilji was obsessed with her, even though she was married to Raja Ratan Singh. When Khilji attacks their kingdom and holds the king as his captive, Queen Padmavati self-immolates herself so as not to fall in the enemy’s hand, a tradition that was used to be called Jouhar. Raja Ratan Singh manages to escape his confinement, but he doesn’t manage to reach his queen alive. Deepika Padukone plays Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor plays her husband Raja Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh plays Alauddin Khilji. Ranveer and Shahid have already started to prep up their looks, as Shahid was spotted with a thick moustache, while Ranveer attended the Befikre trailer launch in his full beard which is essential to play Khilji.

There were rumours doing the rounds that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is so fed up with Ranveer’s antics that he even decided to never ever work with him again. However, the actor-director duo later resolved the issue and now all is well between them. And with this announcement made by Taran Adarsh, fans can finally heave a sigh of relief.
